I just returned a couple of weeks ago from Negril. Make sure that you notify your card carrier that you will be in Jamaica or they might cut you off. That happened to my friends that were with me. The bank can also tell you at that time if charges will be assets at that time. I used my debit call and after I got back I had charges for using it in Jamaica, they were small but it all adds up. One store in Time Square told me there was a charge for using a card no mater what it was credit or debit of 80 cents. For using it at my hotel for my stay there was a $14 charge on my debit card. I tried to always use cash, either US or J. I always try to take small bills with me, lots of ones for tipping. Never had any other problems over the years. The rate was 118J when I was there.
