I haven't heard much about CHIKV virus in a long time. Is it still a problem?

I'm not in Jamaica, but I doubt it has gone. Look it up on the net. Probably a good idea to stay cautious and use some insect repellent. Better to be safe than sorry.
There's nothing wrong with being preventative with mosquito bites in general...but Chik V is spread from an infected human and there have been no recent reports since the beginning of the year of Chikungunya in Jamaica. It cannot be spread without having an active case.
Have not heard of any chik chik this year but there are the normal mosquitoes around right now with all the rain so best to protect.....lacdeloo
Thanks, got my bug spray ready.

There is another mosquito spread virus with 4 confirmed cases in the Carribean, can't remember the name, so bring the bug spray!

Please.... I have seen more than one case of this in October and yes, there is another virus out there....bug spray day and night, screened windows where you stay and mosquito netting if you wish. They were ruled out NOT to be Denge fever by labwork. Lots of rain here and I have felt/seen the most mosquitos this season, than most seasons.

Was in the Yucatan last week and there is some mosquito- caused virus going around there- so it pays to be cautious
