Gail in Treehouse collects old prescription glasses to be redistributed locally.

~Just my two cents worth - I mostly only comment on places I've seen and or eaten at personally.

If you are considering a gift of money, Father Jim whose church is directly across from Coco La Palm runs a much needed soup kitchen and a breakfast program for hungry kids. Not sure if there could be a much better gift than to donate to that program.

I usually hit up the local Dollar Store for crayons, colored pencils, coloring books, kid's books & various school supplies....

I usually ask my friends in Negril if they need anything specifically that can't be obtained in Negril. Like White Castle Cheeseburgers!!

Another good charity is St. Anthony's Soup Kitchen on Nampriel Road past the Bus Park

Board Member Kathy posted this back in 2010 regarding the soup kitchen:

I bring an inexpensive flashlight or two and a inexpensive multi tool for each trip. At the end of the trip I leave them with a security guard.

Deodorant, body wash, toothpaste, t-shirts, tooth-brushes,shampoo, 2 dollar bills [grin] , a backpack for our 4 year old Carla. coloring books, pencils, stickers, perfume for 18 year old Colleen. You know, just "stuff" . Stuff we take for granted. The look on Camesha's face when we handed her a 3 pack of womens Secret deodorant was priceless. It was like we handed her a piece of gold! Respect. As John Lennon said....."Imagine all the people"......36 years ago people!
