After my first year of retirement, I had to ask myself... now what do I do to keep myself out of trouble? Answer... go back to your old teen hobby, amateur radio. Since late March, I've been watching and listening for Jamaican stations and hear one fairly often, but I'm never able to get him to hear me. Last week, I heard the next best thing... an American operating portable. I was able to contact him, and it turns out that he's been in Negril since Thanksgiving and will be there for a bit... lucky bastid... enjoying sun, sand, rum, Reggae, Red Stripe.... AND his hobby. I wanna be him when I'm retired AND grown up.
