Re: Boxing day tomorrow
Boxing Day in Canada,a national holiday, now means 'incredible' sales at all the stores. The TV/Newspaper/Radio ads have been relentless in recent days. A 48 inch RCA television for 199 dollars; but you'd better be prepared to line up before 7 a.m. and each store in the chain has only a limited number of those. It's like 'Black Friday' in the U.S.A. for us tomorrow. Boxing Day's meaning has changed over the years from a day to reward folk like the milkman with a 'box' gift of cookies or a special gift of appreciation to something entirely different in modern times. It's primarily an olde English tradition and goodness knows Canada and Jamaica have a long-standing English connection.
