I'm a budget traveler, and I found what I consider to be good rates at Negril Escape......might have been through travelocity?

As for eating on a budget......eat where locals eat. Sweet Spice is probly my fav, Jerk barrels, box meals, patties etc. Also helps if you have a kitchen or at least a fridge/microwave. You can save $ by eating cereal for b'fast and keeping sandwhich stuff on hand for lunch.

last time I was there I seen countless taxi drivers eating at a spot. Good food, not great, but such a good price it allowed me to eat a really nice supper at one of many great places. Has any checked out the website airbnb.com? I found many reasonably priced places there. I will be checking into it more now that my time has been confirmed. Thanks for the suggestions everybody. keep 'em coming! Now to get on that pubcrawl list...
