[QUOTE=beachgirl66;14206]Rastagal... so glad you will be there... do you know where you are staying?

Ehhhhh....well I think Hidden Paradise. I was really hoping something would open up at FH since it seems like it would be more lively, but I'm starting to get worried that if I don't grab something now there will be nothing left!

The beach is usually pretty crowded on NYE. It really is fun because you can just walk around and mingle...stop here and there. Unless something really special is going on (like a concert) then I will most likely end up at Jungle sometime after 1am....road signs should start popping up a few weeks before advertising the different parties....Woohoo!

Can you walk up and down the beach on NYE to party hop? If there are bonfires along the beach I'm assuming its safe to travel that night.

The beach was crowded 2 years ago -- it felt like one big party. Great fun. It was a full moon that night and it was magical. And yes - party hopping is the way to go. A drink here, a drink there, walk a bit, sit a bit.
I look forward to the lanterns again this year. You can see them anywhere from the beach.

Seawind had an awesome free party last NYE...They had several bands, 3 bonfires and and if you wanted, for $35.00, a great buffet dinner with Lobster Newburg, roast suckling pig etc.

I agree with the other comments about the Chinese fire lanterns. Seeing dozens ( hundreds? ) of them floating out over the bay for several minutes at midnight was an amazing sight which IMHO was much better than fireworks. Several of those fire lanterns were released from Seawind, and I hear that there may be someone selling them there this year.

I'm definitely doing Seastar for Xmas eve and now I'm really considering Travellers for NYE. Is there a flyer about NYE at Travellers?

although there are formal parties at individual hotels, with paid tickets, if someone doesn't want to do that there's no real need to. formal "plans" aren't needed for something to do on NYE..... the entire beach road is one giant party, from one place to the next..... sound systems, food, music, dancing in the street, huge crowds everywhere, and everything you could ever want - even if you're not into buying a ticket to go to a designated event at just one spot.

I agree Miss Blue. The beach is full and there is music everywhere! After midnight when the crowds start to disperse is usually when I decide where I want to go to spend the rest of the night/morning. BUT if Jamboree 5 has Stone Love there I will definitely check that out.

Here is some more info on NYE. I don't think its going to matter where someone ends up... it will be off the hook. It is nice to know what is being offered though.. make de rounds!
