    Dinners on the beach

We are heading down in March with some sort of newbies. They went to RPTB for our daughter's wedding a few years ago, but this will be their first time not staying at an AI. I'm jotting down some ideas of where we'd like to take them for dinner and mostly everywhere I've written down is on the cliffs - which is fine for all involved. I guess we just rarely eat dinner on the beach, something I'd never really given much thought to. So..even though it's been asked a zillion times (and I've searched and read several old posts) Where is your favorite dinner place on the beach and why. Thanks!

I second Kuyaba and Charela. We had a memorable meal at Kuyaba that I remember fondly three years ago. Beyond the food it was a beautiful setting. Charela we did the all inclusive and we had 6 days of fabulous food. For a nice night out on the beach it was a wonderful evening each and every night, so for a one night out on the beach I don't think you can go wrong. The varied menu was great. The dining room was a nice bit of formal for Negril, but you can still dine out under the stars. They have their own bakery and farm and they make fresh ice cream. Everything we had was good, fresh, nicely presented and delicious. We love Negril and the great food is one of the reasons. These were two of our favorites on the beach. Enjoyed two dinners at the restaurant at Idle Awhile when we stayed there. Had a great lunch at Cosmos and do imagine it would be a great spot for dinner. Otherwise we have enjoyed our meals at places on the cliffs.

We are staying on the beach, I just had realized that we seldom eat there at night. No particular reason... Can you have dinner at Idle Awhile if you aren't staying there?
I prefer not crossing the road too much at night. We did that one night - went to eat at Sweet Spot and really had no business crossing the road in our state. Fortunately, we made it across both ways. Just not one of my smarter moments. Haha!

We eat regularly at Chill Awhile/Idle Awhile. Nice quiet setting. Tends to be a bit more expensive with an upscale ambience.
Haven't eaten at Country Country since the fire destroyed the restaurant--did they recreate the restaurant? It was great.

Rainbow Arch for authentic Jamaican cuisine and experience. Open sporaticaly. Tiny place with a sand floor, most of the tables have no view. Put your order in and come back in an hour.

Niah's Patties for lunch--near the craft market, mid-beach. Everything is made from scratch and fresh ingredients. If you want a Lobster patty, bring your own lobster, or give Niah money to buy one for the next day. Very rustic. Picnic table dining, or take your patties with you.

Dinners at Country Country and Firefly are also very good, agree with Kuyaba as well
