There are a few little places that have the basics, but I'd pick up your major things in Black River or Sav on your way in.
same for beer or rum?
Forgot to add. Here is a link to a story I wrote a few years back about Billy's Bay and Irie Rest. Some pictures there too.

No, beer and rum are available, but store hours aren't the same as Negril. Selection also isn't great. There is a little complex on the left side as you're coming into treasure beach that has a basic store that carries beer and rum, then another across from Frenchmans Reef. There are other little stores scattered around that will have warm beer. Prices are generally less than Negril. Enjoy, it's an awesome area. Rent a scooter and find your way up to Lovers Leap, or head the other direction to Ft Charles Beach (12 mile desolate beach, just go mid day). There are also several cool little spots where you can access private, secluded coves along the way. Just ask the locals at each beach before you go swimming, currents can be pretty gnarly in that area. Generally, if you see a reef out in front of you, you're okay to swim between the reef and the beach.
It's a very safe community, so it's okay to let your guard down a bit and just enjoy your time. You won't be hassled much, if at all.
I am doing same next month. 02-06Feb at Treasure Beach (Irie Rest at Billy Bay) and then back to Negril for rest of the month.
With thanks to TAH on another thread, I understand that closest ATM is also at Black River. So my plan will be to get all my essentials (JA cash and my bheer) on way from Mobay to Treasure Beach.
Looking forward to a new experience in TB, and hope you have a great time too.
ill see you there on the 2nd, as im also at Irie Rest. Cheers!
Greetings frankk,
I am sure you will like Irie Rest as I said before I stayed there for a 6 month vacation back in 2001. Give Lenny my best regards.
Skip "Skipper" Ebanks has a fairly well stocked store right next door to Irie Rest. Yes, make a stop in Black River for an ATM machine. There is a bank right on the corner before you cross the iron bridge.
Say "Hi" to Shaker and Neal too. I will be looking for a trip report. Next to Accompong Town, Billy's Bay is my favorite town in Jamaica!

You know, in thinking about it, it almost seems like I remember saying to the misses something about finding an atm after all. I'm not at all certain now, it could be my mind playing tricks on me (damn subs in MI are fine, fine quality). If there is one, it's in the complex where Bred's is located. If you want, I can call someone there and find out for sure...
If I were you though, I'd just get your money in BR or Negril before you go. You don't have to worry much about thieves in TB.
Oh, I'd also highly recommend (if your'e into nature and hiking) a hike up Pedro Bluff. It's at the far end of Pedro Bay, it's a really nice hike. If you do go, take a bag to pick up some of the litter that you'll find.

My memory is rather poor but I believe there is a grocery and liquor store up the by the police station. Scooters are a great way to explore TB and a great grocery getter. Watch out for VERY big pot holes. Pot holes and small wheeled scooters can get interesting. Been to TB twice. Soo nice.
