I bought a villa in the new development Little Bay Country Club. I'm from the states and wondered if anyone knew where I could go to furnish it. Does Negril have furniture stores are would it be best to go to Kingston??

There is a wonderful rattan furniture maker near Juicy J's and Seaview bar and the corner going up to West End. Bookcases, chairs, loveseats, etc.
Mobay has some nice furniture stores and there are a few in Sav also. I would ask around for artisans that might make some of what you need.
Congrats on your new place. Decorating will be fun.

I saw a furniture store in Sav...downtown area. Not sure of the name though

Depends on what kind of furnishings you are looking for....
There's a couple of higher end, nicer quality furniture stores in Montego Bay called Bohios and Matahari...
You can go budget friendly in Sav La Mar to Courts or Singer & there's also a few other smaller furniture stores there...
Kingston offers more variety...
Or, as Sweetness mentioned, you can have furniture hand made...if you see something that you like...just ask who made it...
Wow, we are getting close to deciding on a 2br unit ourselves.... the price is a bit daunting though :|
would you have any guidance we should try to offer below the list price?
(we might be neighbors)
island art and framing in Kingston has lovely furniture so does matahari in mobay.
shipping from the states is another good option.
I have the name of a Miami based company that can help you with the tax stuff.
someone advised me to bring in my linens from the states and that was good advice.

having purchased property i think you can ship down a container with little or no duty. beds, bedding, electronics etc are very expensive you should take a look at this option for your own peace of mind!
my real estate lawyer said he didn't think that was true and i haven't done my homework..
i purchased my house in Sept. and am waiting 'til summer to ship a crate.
i guess i should do my homework. little or no duty sounds dreamy.
i think the Sealy Jamaica beds are fairly priced.
