Due to a snafu we didn't have a place to stay for our first 3 days in Jamaica. The resort we were to stay at found us a place at Prime Rose on the west end. Anyone heard of it before? Thoughts or comments on it? This is only our second adventure to Negril,and we have never been to the west end, so we are rather un-knowledgeable about that part of town. Should I just roll with it? Should I look further? Your expertise is appreciated.
Where were you booked that put you up there? West end is great, but unless you were booked in the same type of place (budget, not on the beach or cliffs) I wouldn't accept that without raising a ruckus.
Rock...the property is called Prim Rose and is run by a good West End family.
Prim Rose is down a side road in the West End and offers very basic, clean accommodations. It will be similar accommodations to Half Moon but obviously is not located on the beach.
We were supposed to be staying at half moon beach in a cabin. Their price was 50 usd per night.

Not sure of your dates, but if it is low season you might be able to stay at Catcha Gardens in a fan room for $49. If you are there in low season I would shoot them an email to see if they are currently offering that deal. It is right across the street from LTU, so you can walk across the street and get your sea view as well as some good food and drink.
