We met many new beach friends Ras Husmo and we got a painting from him and the next day he painted a small picture just for me. It was with my favorite colours and each flower represented him, and my husband and myself. Nice keepsake and many nice stories. Another person that I will try to remember was Jennifer Dennis, she carries a sack of woven items. Surprisingly, people don’t seem to be buying her items as much as she wishes. Her work is well crafted and the hot plates and bread basket and fan will serve me well I’m sure. I’m sure we left many happy people as my husband was very generous on this vacation with his tipping and I had to take control of the cash. We made a few extra trips to Scotia bank. We had plans to go to the pirate shack and on the Pub crawl, but due to the cash situation we had to scale things back.
Christmas dinner was at the Rayon hotel. It was an extravagant event. We started with cocktails and went over to the lovely banquet hall. The room was beautiful and all of the staff put in extra hours to make it such a special time. One of the guests contributed to the occasion and helped to make it so memorable. We got to try so many delicious items that we wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to try. This was a great way to spend our last day in Jamaica.
So sad, Boxing day and time to go home. We did get to spend the morning at Rayon and in the sun. We had a nice drive back to the airport with Leroy from Rocky’s and we got to enjoy it in a new taxi. I really enjoy Sangster airport, it has everything you need.
Nice flight home and back to reality. Thinking about our next trip already, but I’m not too sure that we will do non-inclusive again until our dollar takes an upturn. We really took a kicking and unfortunately, I feel that the non-inclusives are really going to suffer. When we went it was .40 cents on the US dollar and now it is even worse. I don’t even want to tell myself how much this vacation really cost us. I just know that we had a great time and I’m glad we booked in advance so we didn’t change our mind.
Once home, I had a look at the message board and had a look at the photo of Christmas in Jamaica and I was so surprised to see myself (I’m glad it was from a distance ha ha).
Til next time.
