Mikey...totally agree with you, those young girls are lured into it, living in very poor conditions.......renta rastas, or the ''beach boys'' in general, doing there own thing by there decision.

If there weren't any buyers, or ''renters''.. lol..... they wouldn't be in business....lots of Stella's going down to Ja !!!!!

Man or woman prostitution is still prostitution ! Same argument could go for women so hard making a living by working a real job.

Agree with last 2 posts. I am not for or against prostitution, But what would be the pro's and con's of decriminalizing prostitution?

Do some reading about Amsterdam, and the issues they now have with human trafficking.

I just returned from Amsterdam and can say that the Dutch seem to have it figured out. Is trafficing an issue? Yep, but without the controls they have in place it would be far worse than the current state, just like everywhere else. Of the ladies I did see in the windows, I would say the youngest was maybe 25.

The Dutch coffeeshop situation is the best model I have seen as well.

    TAH,
    Have you been to Amsterdam?

When I was a lifeguard in AC, we all hit on the tourist girls just as much as the dudes in Negril. We weren't trying to make a living off of it, but I think it's still pretty similar, in that we were doing it because we were having fun.

The girls, especially the young ones seem to be lured into it and are much more likely to be taken advantage of.
Being a rent a dread is an easy job? Have you seen the vast majority of their clientele? I have seen some absolutely hideous women with rent a dreads.

Nope, never been to Europe at all. I'm not really sure why, I want to go see a ton of things all over Europe, we just always seem to go for the tropical locale's. Honestly, I can't agree about the trafficking over there though. Seems to me, and this is purely based on what I've read and a few documentaries, that the fact that they have it legalized and out in the open is what creates the market for traffickers to enter. That could be completely wrong, but has been my opinion for a bit now. Fwiw.

I do think it should be legal, I just don't know how to implement it.

I had certain perceptions formed prior to visiting Amsterdam, and after seeing it with my own eyes I would endorse it worldwide. The trafficking does need to be dealt with, however the set up is much better than what you see in places like Thailand where pimps get dad's hooked on drugs and have them sell their daughters to work off their debt. The ladies are free to work when they want too and can pick and choose their clientele. Those liberties are not available pretty much everywhere else.

Back on topic. Glad to see Jamaica working to address the problem. Maybe we can get the new sheriff in town to back off the chicken guys and just pay a visit to Bourbon or Roots at night and see the problem in his own backyard.

Yeah, I can get on board with all of that.
