    Scooter rental and helmet laws

Wondering if anyone has rented a scooter recently and a ballpark price for a week?
Also regarding the helmet laws it appears the only people wearing helmets are the tourists. Anyone know what the actual law is ? Thank you

The law in Jamaica requires you to wear a helmet.

Been coming to Negril 24 years now...& I rented a Honda Shadow from Jah B's..@ $40.00 a day for 6 weeks..he has scooters too...goggle him at....negril.com/jahbs..his rates are listed. The guy I used to rent from all the years in the past was killed this past fall & the business has closed.

Forget the law. A 7 mph blow to your head will turn you in to a para pelagic at best !

There's a reason we call them "brain buckets"

I used to rent 185 Yamaha motorcycles in my younger days in Ja (when I was still immortal). They were much better than the scooters. But now I let the experts do the driving.

What kind of license do you need for a scooter there? Here anything over 50cc needs a MC license.

    Thanks,

~Just my two cents worth - I mostly only comment on places I've seen and or eaten at personally.
