    stopping at mega mart

have never stopped and typically it takes us a couple days to make it to value master to stock up on beer, wata and a few food items. thinking it might work best to get it on the way. is the mega mart on the way ? is it crowded where we wont waste a lot of time? thank you

It's pretty big like a Costco, and i've been there on days the lines have been very long, so it's your call, but if you are staying a while it's nice not to have to think about doing neccesary stuff on on your first few days. You're already going to be tired might as well be done with it once you get to Negril.

Pros and cons to Mega Mart. I'm not sure its will save you much money but it does get you stocked up from day 1 which does have benefit.

Thank you for the Mega Mart advice. I'll try it for first time this Tuesday for supplies and SIM card for my cellphone. I'm going there this time because I had trouble getting Dragon Stout bheer last year at HiLo. I'll report about it then.

We stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon in mid January and there wasn't much in the way of lineups. It was great to stock up on a few items that we thought we wouldn't find in Negril. Found one of my favourite wine there that I haven't seen in Negril. Also bought a stand up fan for a better price there that what I have seen in Negril. Was worth the stop for us.

Don't worry about how busy the place is. More often than not, they will open a register to accommodate for tourists. Yes we are that obvious. There's plenty of Dragon Stouts. plenty of everything. Don't forget to pick up some Hardo bread and Tasty cheese slices, for those late night snacks.

It's not out of the way at all. It can get crowded, but the lines move fast. Last trip we just had our driver stop at a store in Lucea as we just needed a few things to get us started.

Always stop either there or Progressive foods, when staying in a villa. They are both right on the way.
