Hope it brings lots of business to the Mom and Pop restaurants. I plan to use that sidewalk a lot next week!

The sidewalk was almost complete on our last trip. It actually looks pretty darn good considering most island construction.![]()
We walked it nearly every day and it is a vast improvement from walking the road. The best part was, no more constant beeping from all the taxi drivers.![]()

Well, let's put it this way.
I didn't smash my toes on any of those ubiquitous 2" steps or thresholds that I usually find out about the hard way. I didn't whack my head on any part of it. There were no loose bricks that you could stumble on and turn your ankle. It was flat and relatively smooth. Heck, it was even level for the most part.
The bridges that are built over the culverts are not exactly ADA compliant but, I bet they would be fun on a skateboard or BMX bike.![]()
The thing I was really happy to see...........there were no horses on it.

.
GOOD point..!!..
however,
over the years,
I've *observed*
that with a LOT of new construction
Jamaica is make SERIOUS efforts to deal with ''...ADA...'' issues
soon come soon
nevertheless,
I also remember,
'bout 10-years ago
when I brought my elderly-mother to Negril/Lucea/Jamaica,
even though she her mobility was limited
at all times, and everywhere,
recognizing her *issues*
the residents, route-taxi drivers, business-establishments, EVERY-body EVERY-where
went out-of-their way
to MAKE SURE she was comfortable, and got around with no-problem(s)
I was amazed
when *they* would go so far as to WATCH-her-feet as she walked about.
