My favorite memory of the sidewalk construction (thus far) was on December 3, 2013 we were walking from Rondel Village down to Red Dragon. We were walking along the mostly unfinished sidewalk. About 6 guys were working on the sidewalk, laying bricks, smoothing pavement, etc. When we got there they asked us to buy them a queue (sp??) of rum because they were building the sidewalk for us, the tourists. We said, "no, we're good, we're just walking down to our favorite bar." One of them yelled out to us,"Ya Mon, buy rum, it's my Birtday." I said, "really, what is the date today?" He replied "December 3rd." I came back to him. That's right, and today is our 20th Anniversary, so here's 500J, go get you some rum." "Happy Anniversary" they all said and off we were to the Red Dragon. Was it really his "birtday?" We'll never know, but at least he knew what day it was and we were in a good, celebratory mood and it was damned hot out there working on that sidewalk.
