Negril Lighthouse
Is it possible to still go up in the Lighthouse? Anyone know when? It seemed to be a hit or miss thing years ago. Would like to take some Newbies up there.

Re: Negril Lighthouse
Friends of ours took a tour about 3 weeks ago. I think it was $10 each

Re: Negril Lighthouse
It may still be hit or miss. We stopped by back in January and walked around the property as the gates were open. There were a couple locals hanging around in their cars and motorcycles, but nobody came out to assist us or let us into the lighthouse. We took some pictures and hung out for a bit, but didn't get to go to the top of the lighthouse.

Re: Negril Lighthouse
What Mike said, hit or miss. We were lucky in June 2015 and the light house keeper was on site and provided a tour for US $10 per person.
Nice view.

Re: Negril Lighthouse
I didn't think there was a charge to go up in the light house but rather a "tip" you gave the keeper. The last time we went I didn't give him anything, reminding him that one of his stinking dogs bit my son on the leg, a pretty nasty gash. A Rasta lady across the street helped us with a bandage and some aloe.

Bob

Re: Negril Lighthouse
Bob, my recollection is he didn't say "A FEE", but asked what I would be willing to "Give". I looked back on my notes and gave him $20 US for the tour. The Light House is locked and he had the key.
Nice old guy and gave a wonderful tour and took our photo.
