I love and support the pub crawl, been on it ten times, and will keep going. But i know to ask the price of something. I know the bars that play games and I'm fine with saying no thank you if it seems outrageous. Last crawl i was on, it was 5 or 6 bucks for a slice of pizza at belladonna. I told them to keep it. I work in NYC and real slices are $2 here. Not mad, but I knew the drill; captive drunk audience. Certainly would have paid 3 and tipped 2 but it's principle at that point. I'll die of hunger before I'm a sucker. Lets remember, you're not a hostage, you can call a cab and go home at any point.

I don't think that any one of us should be speculating and discussing Lenbert's "business". It is a genius idea and so much fun! Kudos to Lenbert! If you do not like how it works, then don't participate.
We stay on the Ochi side too and every time a cruise ships comes into the port, all prices in town go up...just the way the business works. Again, if you don't like it, don't go into Ochi on a cruise ship day.

Lenbert provides an awesome service for visitors and for the local businesses. To do a pub crawl on your own would surely cost more in transportation than using Lenbert and "possibly" paying a little more for your drinks.
    Cool runnings!

Exactly dash cause even a broken clock is right twice a day! I just wanted to place an emphasis on what I highlighted in a different color and text type.

I agree from time to time on what you post so...."Keep up the good work!"

Never been on the pub crawl but have been doing my own pub crawls for years on the beach as well as the cliffs. Always liked to try new bars but I do have my favourites that I frequent more than the others but we always made a point to try and spread our money around. I think Lenbert has a great idea and by the sounds of it a great business. I hope he gets a cut from the bars for the business he brings them and maybe someone of those bars do raise their prices to recoupe what they pay him but that's business. As long as the prices aren't outrageous that wouldn't bother me as I understand people need to make a living and if you don't agree with the price it's your choice to buy or not. I think we will definitely take my wife's sisters on a pub crawl when they come and spend a week with us next month to see for myself what all the hype is about. I have heard nothing but good things about it so I am sure we will have a blast and hopefully discover a few new bars that we would not have stopped at on our own. More people need to come up with business ideas that benefit themselves, tourists and other establishments in the Negril area. Sounds like a win, win, win situation to me.

No speculation on my part. I have heard this from several business owners on the West End. He is in no way gouging anyone, and I see zero issue with him charging to bring people by. He is bringing them new business, and it is up to the owner of the establishment to take advantage of the extra footsteps. He also does not charge the passengers, and you can tip what you want when the ride is over. This is a win for everybody involved.

Quite the contrary. As Marko stated, you can get beers much cheaper at numerous bars on the West End. You can also pay more, such as Ivan's and Margaritaville. Transportation cost in Jamaica are cheap, whether you use public transportation or a private driver.

Hopefully my initial reply was not taken as a knock on Lembert, as that was not my intent. He has found his niche and it appears it is working well.

This is the classic rub that anyone in sales has experienced, folks like to know how you are making your money off them. If Lembert charged $20 a head you wouldn't hear a complaint. But if folks find out they tipped him $10 and he made a few bucks of the beer they bought without their knowledge some get upset. Happens over and over in business.

I never thought Lembert did the crawl to pad his charity resume and I don't really care how he makes his money and how much he makes. He provides a service, keeps folks safe and makes sure they are entertained. I always assumed there had to be some back door profit as can you imagine how many cheapskates stiff him on the tip? We have all seen folks get off the bus and barely offer a thank you.

We have seen a few people get off the bus without tipping Lenbert.

We once went on the pub crawl with friends. The hubby tipped Lenbert $3. The guy has money coming out of his ears and tipped $3. Good grief! I tipped Lenbert enough to make up for what my tightwad friend didn't tip. (BTW.....his wife gave him hell afterwards when she found out how little he tipped.)

Like it has been said before, if you don't like the increased prices, don't buy a drink. At a few places the prices were posted on the wall or on menus. I find it hard to believe they change the sign to $400ja or have separate menus just for the pub crawl. Some of you people need to relax. You'll have more fun.

    BTW.....it LENBERT.
    Respect!

anyone go on the crawl and not pay about $4 us for a beer? Just curious...

I know there are a hundred places to get a beer for less, but on the actual crawl, what are people paying?
