Whats the cheapest way to get Appletons. Not interested in tours as have done several before - and not interested in the tour part at Appletons either. Want a nice drive up, tasting room, buy a few bottles and head back.

How would I go about getting a route taxi there - and back?
He also wanted a "Nice" drive up, Cap.![]()
On a Route Taxi, it is what it is. Roll the dice and hope for a 7
Route Taxi (the way I use them as I live only about 10 miles from Appleton) is go to the Negril Taxi yard and get a transport to Sav. In Sav, ask for one that can let you off in Santa Cruz. In Santa Cruz, they have an area where there are taxis to Appleton but kind of infrequently. I would ask a driver in Santa Cruz to take you there and back as a Charter. A little more but won't take a couple of hours more waiting for rural taxi fill-ups.

Not sure you can just walk into Appleton and go to their store. You might have to pay tour admission to gain access to the tasting and store. I would check that.
The cheapest way to Appleton is to go to the nearest store!
We're all in this together and none of us is getting out alive.

EdmontonGuy,
If you are really interested in going to the Appleton Gift Shop at the Estate here is their web address with a contact page
http://appletonrumtour.com/contact/
The Contact Us gives you phone #, Fax # and e-mail address.
Ask them yourself if they would allow you to bypass the tour and go straight for the gift shop???
Marblehead and Slightly Stoopid, there are many Appleton rums and products exclusive to the Estate's Gift Shop. You can find many of their rums across the island but even the duty free shop at the airports do not carry some special rums and Souvenirs available there.
Thanks johng ..
That does make alot of sense
