    Snorkeling

Where can I snorkel without taking a tour? Is there any place like that?
I am going to stay on West End Road, close to Westland Mountain, across the road from the old Negril Yacht Club
Just wonder, is there any snorkel place around

I saw post : “Captain Roger & sunbaby glass bottom boat tours”. Is there any other tours like that for snorkeling with the decent price?

My entire trip to Jamaica is for snorkeling in an order to do therapy for my knee. So, I am looking for fun…relatively cheap and enjoyable fun with rehab after the surgery

There is the whole Caribbean Sea to snorkel in without having a tour guide so it is unnecessary to hire someone to take you out.

The advantage of a boat is to take you out to the reef and then monitor your diving and bring you back. Just about any fishing boat can be used for that purpose and you can negotiate a price or just swim out there yourself.

We enjoyed Captain Moses. We did snorkeling and the island picnic on Booby Cay for $50 pp, but some people only did the snorkeling for a lower price.

Captain Moses is on the beach beside Alfreds.

I used to go out past the all inclusives to a little beach with really good snorkelling. There is a little gap in the fence and a path that leads to an area where a bunch of fishing boats are and there is a real cool little beach there and we always had it to ourself. Not sure if that area has been developed yet because it's been about 7 yrs since my last trip but I hope it's still just like it was. Also there's lots off good snorkelling along the cliffs. You can check out Rhodes hall resort. They have a website and I believe for $15 they will come get you in Negril and bring u there to enjoy the property. There is a reef not to far from shore that is supposed to have good snorkelling. I always bring my own snorkelling gear and go as much as I can. Haven't been to Rhodes hall resort yet but plan to go this year and do as much snorkelling as I can. I always do at least one trip to the reef in Negril and one time I went to a reef a little further out from the one most boats bring you to and there is much more to see at that reef. Also there is pretty good snorkelling infront of point village but not sure if you can get water access there if you are not staying there. I went once years ago when a friend stayed there and snorkelling was really good just offshore between there and booby cay. Have fun and I hope you find some great spots to enjoy the sea life

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I know the area well. We snorkeled there for many years.
Unfortunately, that whole area is now part of Little Bay Country Club, which is a gated community of 171 residential units.

    Here's what you remember:

    Here's what's there now:

It's 2 different areas. Rhodes Hall is 4-5 miles past the area I was referring to.
