Did you mean Rhodes Beach Resort ?
I did not like there. You should swim for 600m before hit the corals. Better bring floats with you.
I also did not like grass on the bottom. Made me quite nervous

    LOL, depends on the surgery
Mine rehab did not work very well in the meaning of bending knee. But for sure I built up lots of muscles snorkeling and climbing up where I stayed. Did not realize it was uphill

Got bitten by the jelly fish on the famous 7 miles beach on my bad leg!!!! That was a disaster (((
The best and easiest place for snorkeling was off the old and closed yacht club reef. There are lots of people snorkeling there and locals catching fish

Did not check XTabi. After that jelly fish bite got paranoid going into water , did it but being paranoid, lol.

2nd Patty K - nice little warm up snorkel off canoe bar beach - turn right to snorkel in front of the Yacht Club. I used to fish there all the time.

Dam that sucks and I am sorry to hear that. I have spent countless hours in the ocean there and I have hear about jellyfish but have yet to encounter one and I hope I don't. Knock on wood. Hopefully you still had a good time in Negril

I've never seen jelly fish in my trips but I have been "stung" when I brushed up against the ropes in the sea. I guess they are home to some stingy little guys. I now make sure to give any buoy ropes a wide berth.

We stayed at Rhodes Beach Resort for a couple nights before moving to White Sands for the rest of our trip. The snorkeling at Rhodes was very good off the cement pier, which is to the left of the pool when looking at the ocean. We saw a moray eel, lots of fish, and tons of sea cucumbers. You can swim out around a little island. Past the island it gets deep. We also went out on the pier after dark with a big flashlight, and the entire sea floor looked like it was moving. The sea cucumbers come out at night, and they are creepy. Saw a lion fish at night as well.

1999 I stepped off a dive boat as we were coming to shore and stepped right on a big jelly fish!!! I can still feel the burning!! Rum vinegar was the key! Definitely hurt like hell for a day or two!!!

Ha! Same thing happened to me. My wife and I were walking along the beach, I felt a sting in my foot, collapsed to the ground and let out a loud expletive. The pain actually went away pretty quickly, as I walked it off.

But yeah, now I try to avoid those ropes.
