As in at the bottom of the road. lol there is really great snorkeling, it is free, the water entry is beachy and shallow . there are a few reef structures just off shore and lots of small fish in the shallows where there are rocks. It is very comfortable for kids and beginners/non swimmers as there is lots to see in relatively shallow water. out further and deeper, off the yacht club is more reef and more to see. I snorkel almost daily and have regular stations where I feed the fish.

I am staying on West End Road, close to Westland Mountain, across the road from the old Negril Yacht Club. I belive this place you are talking about should be really close by.?

Best snorkeling off shore in Negril I find is Point Village, but it is private unless you rent/own a condo, or know someone who has. Pirates Cove, near the natural rock pools.

That's where we usually snorkel but the seas were rough when we were there last month so we did pay for glass bottom boat to take us to the reef (We paid $20 per person plus tip and there were 4 of us). My hubby got to swim along side a huge ray......it was well worth the money and probably will skip xtabi from now on as there are more fish and different kinds on the reef verses the xtabi.

This Forum has a strange effect on me. Now I am thinking about scheduling knee surgery so I can do my rehab in Negril. Good call Starlik.

We always snorkel in the Rochouse are at least once a trip. Always found quite a bit to see there. Just eat lunch there afterward, if you are using the property for snorkeling.
