Help needed

We leave for Negril in 17 days and the wait is killing us. Is there some kind of pill we can take that will make us sleep for the next 16 days lol. Have looked at all our pictures from years past and packed, unpacked and repacked our bags to make sure we don't forget anything. Suitcases are by the door, cash is converted to American funds and today we went to caa and purchased medical insurance and rfid protection sleeves for our credit cards. Funny story about that lol. Been tellin the wife we should get them and she said I was being paranoid and we didn't need anything like that. They had them on the counter for sale at caa and I pointed them out and said those are what I was talking about. The lady working there said you should by them and then proceeded to tell us about how her son got his cards scanned when he was in the Caribbean and how hers got scanned in Florida and how her mother in law had it happen to her right here. Needless to say every card we have with those chips on them is in a protective sleeve lol. Now we just need to get on that dam plane. I swear I almost want to have the most boring trip ever just so the time in Negril doesn't fly by like it always does lol. Soon come but just not soon enough

Work mi friend lol but extending our stay by a week is already in the works. If I can't get there soon I figure we can at least stay longer right

The last week or so always takes at least a month LOL. There is no quick cure either unfortunately.
As a fellow Ontarian I wondered why you changed your money to US dollars. I admit to doing it for my ride to and from the airport but take Canadian and exchange it for Jamaican once I am there. Most places will give you change in J$ so I use them -why bother exchanging twice. I do bring J$ home so that I am ready for my next trip.

Should have said American money in hand as we didn't really exchange it so to speak. We live in a border town and my wife works at a place that caters to American tourists and during the tourist season her employer was nice enough to sell her American money for the exchange rate they give the tourists which was only 10 percent. Otherwise we just would be bringing Canadian money and exchanging it for ja's like we usually do

Oh, that makes sense, if you already have it then use it. Lots of Canadians seem to think they have to exchange to US before going. I suppose it's because the hotels, transfers etc. all quote in US$.

I feel your pain. I have 33...I mean 32....more days to go and I'm itching like crazy to get there. My co-workers always wonder why I'm so anxious to go do nothing...I always wonder why they aren't anxious to do nothing! I'm usually packed already, but I decided to wait a while this time. Everything is in a neat pile ready for me to throw it in a bag.

I plan to exchange that valuable us currency for Jamaican dollars as soon as I hit Negril. Just not all at once lol. I do spend American dollars on some things but prefer to deal in the local currency as much as I can. Dealing in Jamaican currency is part of the cultural experience so to speak and I wouldn't have it any other way. I feel so wealthy when I have $10,000 to $20,000 ja in my pocket even if it's only worth a cpl hundred dollars us lol. I do plan to keep a few hundred dollars in American ones and fives for tips and small purchases. I am very well aware of the sorry mon I have no change thingy lol. But American money, Canadian money or Jamaican money is the last thing on my mind right now, I just wanna get to Negril already. I swear I can already feel that blast of hot humid air you feel when you step off the plane lol
