Cocolapalm - construction. Need your opinion
Traveling to Negril mid April, staying at Treehouse 5 nights and Coco 4 nights. Coco will have the main restaurant & bar closed as they are replacing the roof. We have a beachfront room booked. They are going to have some makeshift restaurant in place. Should I switch to a Beachfront room at Charlea Inn. Just my Husband & i in our early 50's and like to party and hit lots of bars & restaurants. But love to lounge on the beach during the day. Any thoughts?

Re: Cocolapalm - construction. Need your opinion
I have stayed at Coco seven times. We eat at the main restaurant only once or twice each visit. I would not switch hotels. They will have the beach bar open so no worries there. Plenty of restaurants nearby if you want to go off property.

Stayed at Coco La Palm last June and loved it, but construction noise might bother my vibe if I was chillin on the beach....
Coco is posting updates on their Facebook page, you might want to check it out and see how progress is going...
Enjoy,

We are also booked at CCLP in mid-April. I called NegrilOneStop for some outside opinions on what is taking place. According to them, the main restaurant, bar and kitchen are being rehabbed and expanded. I am sure some roof work will also be taking place.
The Beach Bar and Grill has already been improved with a larger kitchen and expanded seating area with additional tables, chairs and umbrellas. The hours or operation have been increase and will be open all day and night.
Their info from CoCo was that there would be no "heavy" construction and should be not be disruptive. If the project is ruining your vacation you can re-book at another Hotel with no cancellation penalty from CCLP. Everything CCLP does is first class and professional and they thrive on repeat business so I would think it should not be a problem.
For us, booking at another resort of similar quality would cost us another $900. We are going to give it a try and see how it goes. From our experience, not too much bothers us once our feet our are in the sand and a cocktail is in our hand.
Belfar3 ............. hope to met up with you and enjoy a cocktail or three. See you on the beach at CCLP with Bloody Mary's in the morning ! !

I really enjoy staying at CCLP but it is truly one of my least favorite for eating and drinking. You have Best West right across the street and the hotels nearby serve better drinks --- IMO!
Keep smiling,

Thanks for the responses. Doesn't sound like the work being done will be too bothersome. I stayed.at coco for a couple days a few years ago and loved the shaded beach. We also like our Bloody's for breakfast Captain Oil! And agree that once we are in Negril, nothing will bother us either.
