I am writing a 2nd post because there maybe others reading these posts like myself. This was our 1st trip to Negril in 30 years. We have taken many Caribbean vacations mainly AIs in Mexico and Punts Cana as well as a few cruises. The reason we did not return to Negril before this last trip was because during our 1st trip we were uncomfortable with the high pressure sales techniques. Especially the touching and laying jewelry on my wife's shoulder. Chalk it up to change, experience, our group size, or where we stayed we did not experience any of that on this trip. Even our children in their 20s did not have any problems walking the beach. A smile and no thank you was good enough. In fact we appreciated we could buy whatever we needed right on the beach. It would not have been the same without Norman, the bread man, the fruit lady and the juice guy. Although AI vacations are nice and relaxing they are all basically the same, other than the music in the background you could place them anywhere and would not notice. Even the food is very American.

This trip was different. We experienced things we would never experience at an AI and the food was some of the best we have had. I will admit the constant sales proposals can be annoying but that is part of the experience. At no point did we feel unsafe. My wife and I are planning our next trip and we have already decided we will be returning to Negril!
Thanks again to this site. It was very helpful.
