How much $$ do you exchange at a time?

Which denominations do you commonly recieve when exchanging to J? I'll mostly be buying small items like beers and street food, taxis, etc.

Is the cambio by bourbon beach a good choice?

Thank you! I know there are many questions on cambio and exchange so thanks for taking the time on this one!
I like to carry small bills 1000 and smaller. I'm very self conscious about asking small places to break 5000 if I'm only ordering a beer.

Whipping a 5000J bill out at a rum bar just might be a douche move, so I hear you. Now at a place live Ivan's or one of the bigger tourist places like Rick's it is a non issue. This is no different than the States, where local convenience stores or fast food joints do not accept bills larger than a $20, and post signs saying so. If a large corporate entity back home will not take large bills, why should one expect a local joint in a foreign country to do so?
