Billyg51, I did a tour last June 2015 and another back in 2008. The two fields I toured were not far from Negril (less than 20 minutes), but both fields took some climbing to reach. I'm in my mid 50's and the field last year was probably 200 yards off the road, but almost all up hill. The field in 2008 was probably 400 yards off the road and it was steep going up as well. This might not seem like a long hike, but remember it will probably be Hot and Humid and it is steep! I went with two very fit young adults last year and we were all winded on the hike up and took several breaks.

The trails are purposely rough to deter unwanted visitors. You must have a guide to bring you to the field and show you around. Don't expect long cultivated rows that are easy to walk through, more likely it will be rocky and the plants growing in old tires.

Depending on the season and field the plants may be early in development.

I recommend sneakers as opposed to flip flops or sandals. If it has rained recently, the going can be slick up hill and really slick coming back down.
