    Looking for Economical Transportation

My daughter's friend is traveling with us to Negril but will be leaving before we are and has a 6 am flight out of Montego Bay on the day of her departure.

We are tossing around the idea of her spending the night in Montego Bay the night before her flight, my daughter would likely stay with her so she is not alone.

In this scenario we would need to get the two of them from Negril to the hotel in Montego Bay and then get my daughter back to Negril the next day. Private transfers will likely be too expensive for this so I am looking for suggestions.

Also, to get say from Toby's Resort in Montego Bay to the airport would there be an inexpensive taxi option. Looks like JUTA would charge 25.00, that on top of the transportation to get to Montego Bay makes this a little to expensive.

    Thanks in advance.

Call Toby Resort and ask them.

Why not stay in Negril and get a pickup for the airport from there? Just stay up late until they come for her, which should be around 2am.

That was my original thought but her mom prefers she stay in Montego Bay the night before, probably to ensure she is on time for her flight. Does JUTA pick up that early in the morning?

lola's suggestion is the best . . . eliminates the need for your daughter to be in mo bay . . . your daughter would have to be alone from about 4 a.m. until her ride to negril, now, that makes no sense to me!

Yes, it's their job to insure guest/clients make their flights no matter the time. I have had 7am flights out of mobay and was in Ochie which is a little farther and it was not an issue. You can also book with Clive or a number of private transfer companies like Errol Flynn Tours, Joe Cool etc

A private ride from Negril is less costly than a hotel, meals, taxis etc in Mobay and the girls are better off with you in Negril. Don't send your daughter off with the girl because her mom wants her to stay in Mobay.

and i don't think juta operates that early, When we arrived in Mo-bay in Feb. I inquired with them about how late they run to Negril and back as my daughter was coming in 2 days after us and they only run until the majority of flights have come in so that averages around 6-7 pm. so i would think they start first pu in Negril somewhere around 7 am
check their website . I would just get a private driver Toby's is only about 5 or so minutes from the airport.

most economical is Viator.com to get to and from Negril.....Roundtrip is $34.99......they use Holiday Services...
Holiday Services is fine but what you pay is what you get.....you gotta wait till they fill da bus and drop off lots of travelers usually
just contact Holiday Services after booking online (or before) and tell dem where the pickup and dropoff locations are.......

Realisticaly if she stays with you in Negril, you would only have to pay tops $60 for private transport, you would be garaunteed prompt and timely pu, as opposed to Juta if they even start that early, plus a night at Tobys runs about $150 at least, plus, taxi to airport $, Plus shuttle to get Your daughter back to Negril $30, it makes no sense to me.
