actually, yes. there are a number of outfits that offer guided tours around the hudson, harbor and statue of liberty as well as simple joyriding. I've looked into a few but haven't done it yet.

I completed my survey.....not a fan of the jet skis. Tourists, water, sun, rum and machines.....not a great mix.

Re: Jet Ski survey White Sands facebook

I was really happy to see the jet skis gone. I have seen too many idiots driving them as if they were on a race course and not a busy beach. Too often they came screaming up onto the beach ignoring those in the water. The noise, smell, waves created etc. made it, to a degree, an unsafe swimming area. Although they were supposed to stay within the boundaries set, more often than not they went wherever they chose.
Bring them back!!! I think not.

Try New York Media Boat Tours..... Highly recommended.

As far as Jet skis I am with the majority and say no. Loud, stinky, and not safe to other travelers.

Please state reason: I don't think it's good for the sea, and I don't want to hear the noise. I don't think it's safe for swimmers. It's bad enough the boats cruise close to shore and at rates of speed that don't allow them to avoid a swimmer. I had been comfortable swimming beyond the swim area ropes to snorkel and swim for a distance, specifically near the Alfred's raft... This year I was too hesitant and never went beyond the ropes because of the boats- they seemed a lot closer to shore this trip. Jet skis create a culture of fast paced adventure sports, which, in my opinion, don't have a place in Negril. Liability is a huge concern and I would never personally use jet skis, but I feel they create enough of a hazard to most people that they aren't a benefit to the tourism community.
Would you like to see jet skis operating in Negril again: No, never.
