mi will state the facts as mi know dem and what mi have observed regarding this incident......
mi friends with a couple police officers here and mi probably know more than most.......

Friday morning army troops went into Redground and detained quite a few people that are people of interest in this incident.......
mi have been told they do have the two guys that were on da motorcycle in custody with da roundup dem did in Redground.....
and they do have the phone back that was robbed from the Canadian......the phone had been unlocked after it was stolen...
the people that were involved with the phone stuff have been detained too.......

overall mi would say the authorities are doing a great job here.......the streets have never been safer.....trust mi on da one....

wi have a lot fewer bikes on da road.......and things on da road are a lot quieter these days

    Marko,

I am glad your personal opinion is that the police are doing a great job, but huh? I almost get the feeling that there is some contest for "who thinks they know the most" or "who posts what first". There isnt. You may know more cops than the average tourist that visits Negril, but there are those here that have known many more than you. Please stop posting what you heard, "mi have been told ", (rumors) and then passing them along as facts.

Unless you were with the army troops (called the Jamaican Defense Force or JDF by the way), then you have only heard things and have not observed anything at all regarding this statement. If you did not see the "phone" in question being taken by the police (JCF) or the JDF, the you have no observational facts. We have heard various stories going back to Monday claiming the police already had the phone in question.

We have heard numerous variations from the rumor mill regarding your "observations" during this past week, none we were able to be confirm. But that is not surprising as with any proper police investigation, they dont give out important information regarding the investigation to inquiring civilians. That would be irresponsible. Police world wide use many tactics, including misinformation to confuse the perpetrators.

It is a fact that some 600+ bikes are off the road and the authorities are doing a great job there. That has been reported in the news. But the rest of your "observations" are from what you have heard. That makes it rumor.

To all - I ask again to please stop spreading rumor and speculation. it serves no useful purpose and helps no one.

    Let's keep it real folks.
