    Reggae marathon

Hi Everyone, I have been to Negril 3 times before but usually in Jan/Feb. I want to attend for the Reggae Marathon in December and do the 10K. We have stayed previously at Rooms and CocoLapalm. Anyone else going down for the this event? We are planning to arrive the Dec 1 and stay until Dec 10th. Not sure what the weather will be like in December.

    Any comments????

in the past traveled to Negril the first two weeks of December every year. The weather has always been great that time of year. It used to be very laid back then too as the tourist season had not kicked in yet, however in recent years that has changed and the amount of tourists during that time has increased. Great for the locals and business' Go and enjoy. Walk good!!!

IMO opinion weather wise this is the best time of year to go. It is just before high season and vendors moods are pretty good as they know the business will soon come. Enjoy

Shelley - It's my favorite time of year!! Weather is awesome. There are 8 of us going down this year, two of us trying to decide if we are up to doing the 5 k. (usually drinking rum all week lol, not being healthy!) lol I've been training, but not quite sure yet if this old body is up to it!

There is no 5k for this race. Only 10k, half marathon and full marathon. I'll be doing it again this year.

Gotta agree with the other posters. Late November- early December is an especially good time to be in negril. Weather is as good as it gets, not as crowded as later in the season but still lots going on. All venues are up and running. Good luck! With the run.

    Hi
My wife and i are running the 10k for a second time. The reggae marathon is a fun 2 days. The rasta pasta party the night before is fun with good food and music. It was also great to meet runners from all over the world.
The after race party was a good time too with a couple of free red stripes and reggae bands.

We have booked at Rooms and will be arriving on Thursday. Wondering if from Rooms we can walk to the Friday night pasta party??? Not sure where exactly the Sportsplex is.

Did the 10k last year and doing it again this year. It's a great event and the afterparty and beach is a lot of fun right at the finish line.

Thanksgiving time has always been our favorite. Reggae Marathon is right around then. Love that time of year.
