First Trip report!
This is my first EVER trip report, hopefully its okay. I’ve been reading the message board for months now and wanted to share our experience, since I’ve enjoyed so many. A little background, this was our 5th trip to Jamaica. We normally stay for one week at Couples Swept Away. This trip we did a two week stay, one week at Catcha Falling Star and one week at Couples Swept Away. We stayed July 23rd-August 5th. This was our first trip in the month of July, we normally go either April, May, or June. Our first week was at Catcha Falling Star. There were 4 of us this trip.
Day One July 23rd: This was our travel day. We left from OKC flew to Charlotte then from Charlotte to Mo Bay. We did do the MoBay arrival and departure service. Glad we did the arrival. Our plane landed around 1ish and there were about 5 other plans landing at the same time, so this did save us some time. We got our cups filled at the MoBay lounge and Wayne from Rocky’s was there to pick us up. He was a great driver. We stopped at Mega Mart for some light supplies to start us out with at Catcha. We’d never been there before so why not. We stayed in Aquarius at Catcha, 2 bedroom upstairs room. Our friend Mark that we’ve known from several trips met us a Catcha for a few drinks before dinner. We called the shuttle to take us to Sea Star for the nightly entertainment. We didn’t eat the buffet just order al la carte. It wasn’t very busy but they did have a nice singer and DJ. The shuttle took us back to Catcha. No worries mon! We had a great day for weather there was no rain.
Day Two July 24th: We hired a driver to take us to Hi Lo, my husband wanted to go and check it out and compare to Mega Mart. We bought some more JB, mixers, and a few snacks. Did a little souvenir shopping in the little shops around HiLo. We had lunch at Ivans, the lunch food was great. It started raining around lunch time. We had the Pub Crawl with Lenbert scheduled for today. Lenbert picked us up right when he said he would. The bus was pretty full by the time we stopped at all of the resorts. This was our first pub crawl. It was nice to see the other bars that you normally wouldn’t see. I don’t remember all of the bars we went too! We ordered a pizza from Ciao for dinner and had it delivered to Catcha. That was a great pizza!!!
Day Three July 25th: Today we are going to the beach. Another one of our friends Cindy met us a Catcha. We gave her some school supplies, her son is starting high school this year. She went with us to the beach. We had our driver drop us off at Bourbon Beach and started walking. We ate lunch at Alfreds again good food. We went back to Yellowbird to try their dirty bananas and man were they good. They did not disappoint, we had a few while we were there. We stopped at Woodstock for a few more drinks. We also stopped at Boat bar and Margaritaville had a few drinks there too. Our last stop was Cosmos, they have the best dirty papayas!!! It’s a must have while you’re there. We called a driver to take us back to Catcha. The boys cleaned up before heading to dinner. We had dinner at Quality’s and his food is LEGIT!!!! It was sooooo good. We called Faye for a pick up at Catcha she was on time and very nice. I did have the Mahi Mahi, WOW!!!! The rest of the family had pasta, it was all delicious. We chatted with Quality after we had finished dinner, what a nice guy! He took us back to Catcha when we were ready. I highly recommend trying his place out! Another day of good weather just a few sprinkles.
Day Four July 26th: This was just a chill day. Breakfast at Ivans. We hung at Catcha all day between swimming in the cliffs and floating in the pool. We did some snorkeling off the cliffs. The boys had lunch at Ivans, the girls just had a liquid lunch lol! We had a driver take us to 3 Dives for dinner. The lobster was awesome! It wasn’t too busy when we got there but started picking up when we left. We went back to Catcha had a few drinks at Ivans before calling it a night.
Day Five July 27th: We have Barney’s hummingbird garden scheduled. We ordered Ivans room service. Barney had a driver pick us up and take us to his garden. It was awesome. We went early in the morning before it got to hot. We walked around and fed the hummingbirds. Barney was a great host, telling us all about his garden and all of the birds. We got dropped off at Catcha. We walked to Rick’s for lunch. We’d never been so why not try it at least once. We all ordered some appetizers and cocktails. It started pooring rain right after we finished eating. Ran up to the bar for some more drinks while we waited for Ziggy from Rocky’s to pick us up. We went to Quality’s shop and picked up a few things. We went to the Harley shop for my dad, then on to Ted’s Tea Shop. Ziggy was a great driver. He dropped us off at Catcha, we had dinner planned there. We had forgotten some of our purchases in the back of Ziggy’s car and when we went to dinner there were waiting for us. He had brought them back to Catcha after he realized they were there. We didn’t even know they were missing….maybe too many cocktails. Dinner at Ivans was amazing as always, so were the Bob Marley’s we had afterwards.
Day Six July 28th: We need to get repacked to head to Couples Swept Away. We spent most of the morning getting everything in order. Light lunch at Ivans. Our friend Mark picked us up to take us to his girlfriends bar Natural Mystic (Susan’s Bar). Mark is a great painter so the first night we had given him some blank canvases to paint. We picked them up at the bar, they were more than we expected. We just hung out there all day drinking with our friends. Susan is building on to her bar. They will have a BBQ pit and building outdoor seating. They are also working on building a room that they will rent out. When it gets finished it’s going to be great! Can’t wait to see it when we go back. Mark dropped us back off at Catcha. We called Roy (one of the driver’s we’d been using) to take us to dinner at LTU. It wasn’t busy at all, but the food was really good. Another highly recommended spot to eat.
Day Seven July29th: We had scheduled Rocky’s to pick us up at 9am and take us to CSA. He was early and we were able to get there early to enjoy the beach.
I won’t go into our stay at CSA since its all inclusive not much goes on besides sand gravity. We were there during Dream Weekend, that was interesting never been there before during that time. We were also there when the Tropical Storm came through. It missed most of the island. It only rained all day one day our entire trip. It wasn’t bad, we’d had so many great days without rain one day didn’t bother us. I don’t this we’ll go during July again, it was too hot for my husband and dad. The girls didn’t mind we like the sun and heat! We didn’t take the couples bus back to MoBay, we called Rocky’s that is the only way to go. We will call him for all of our transfers from now on. I've added some of our pics. More pics to follow this post.

Re: First Trip report!
Great report and sound like you had a great time! We can't take a trip in the summer when it is so nice here in NC but we love end of November and end of April.
