Second guessing my reservations - help?

I booked Sunset at the Palms in a package deal for 4 nights, to leave 3 nights to go somewhere else. I went ahead and booked the Sag at Catcha, as I know this room is in high demand, I've I tried to book it in the past with no luck. The price ultimately ended up being more than expected for a non A/I.

Typically we stay on Long Bay, so with us staying on Bloody Bay then moving to the cliffs, I'm wondering if we are going to miss strolling along Long Bay, hopping into the bars for a red stripe, a patty and jerk chicken at Best in the West.

I could cancel the room at Catcha and incur about a $100 fee, and rebook say at Coco Lapalm for about 1/2 the price.

My DH said he doesn't want to be walking around the cliffs, like we typically like to do because of the recent violence. So I'm worried I might feel stuck at Catcha, only eating at their restaurant.

So yes, I am second guessing myself. What would you do in this situation?

You probably answered your own question! You can't return a bad vac experience. We are in the same dilemma, spending last three nights on cliffs and kinda hesitant to bounce around as much as we do on the beach. We have our first five nights on beach though. Take the hit and stay where you like!

Catch a is a fabulous experience and I can't see anyone having the need to leave the property for too long!
I'd stay with the original plan.
    And satp is fabulous choice.

Well I think I've decided to just keep the reservations I have. Since we will be checking out of SATP, then heading over to Catcha, we have a few hours between check-out and check-in that I thought we could spend at Long Bay. Problem is, we will have luggage with us. Is there anyplace that we could go and leave our luggage at (safely), while we explore the beach? I guess we could leave the luggage at SATP, cab over to the beach, cab back to SATP then cab to Catcha, but it seems like a bit much. Any suggestions?

You will be fine. I don't think you will miss Long Bay, at all. We stay exclusively on the cliffs, and just take a taxi over to the beach whenever we feel like it. You can do the same from either SATP or Catcha - it doesn't have to be on check out/check in day, but if you wanted to I would just drop your bags off at Catcha and head to the beach until your room is ready.

my thought is to go right to Catcha and ask them to hold your luggage until your room is ready

my other thought is, why are you limiting yourself to just that transition time to get to the long bay beach? sounds like you have at least a week to spend time ALL OVER Negril. Just go with the flow. When you need some beach time on the long beach, catch a cab - my thought would be to do it while you are staying on bloody bay, and then just (full)joy the cliffs. It'll be like two vacations in one!

    Just my opinions!

I know it sounds easier to go to long bay while staying at SATP, BUT we are paying the price for A/I, so it seems silly to me to venture out to Long Bay while staying at SATP, especially since we will only be there for 4 days. I guess we could cab to Catcha leave the luggage, then head back, just was trying to avoid cabbing around so much. I just didn't know if there was a safe place to leave our luggage on long bay as we made our trek to the west end.

It would be much easier to cab there and back or you could have the Catcha driver or a driver you feel comfortable with drop you at the beach and then drop off your luggage at Catcha...they could later return to pick you up at a designated time and location...this way you could easily bar hop/walk along the beach.

However...most places would be happy to store your luggage...unless you have 14 suitcases.
If you're spending money on their property there won't be any issue.
