    Solo Travelers in Negril

Hey Everyone! Sooooo I'll be in Negril next month Sept 7 - 12th staying at Riu Negril. Traveling alone since my friends didn't want to get on board. This is my 7th time in JA but first time traveling solo. I've been doing research for things to do far as daily activities outside of the resort and also night life .

    Suggestions?!!!!!

TravelLady903 Have you ever been on Lenbert's One Love bus pub crawl? That would be a great way to see some smaller bars on the cliffs and meet some new people. We do it every year because it's so much fun!

Well, so far I m doing the One Love Bar Crawl. I would like to do an ATV Ride but can't seem to find any that are servicing Negril. The issue is, I m so used to traveling with a group and having other people that I tend to be very shy when I m alone so I m fearful that shy will take over and I won't do the many great things that will be available to me.

Do you have any suggestions far as activities? Think I have enough night options even if I have to visit Hedo for the night!!!

Hey IRIEchic! Nothing for me on Thursday night. Friday I'll be doing the One Love Bar Crawl! It's FREE and really fun! It's from 2 - 7. I m open for Thursday. If you want to do the One Love Bar Crawl I can get you the info to make a reservation. I sent you a friend request because I didn't see any options to private message you!

See my user name. I used to travel there alone and always had a blast. The board is a great place to meet folks to hang out with, and it was hard to be lonely. People just start talking to you when you are alone (for better or worse).

The one love bus is a blast, especially if you get on with some people who have fun and enjoy meeting new people! Lenbert always does his best to show you some great spots. Don't forget to tip him if you love your experience! (Disclaimer: tipping is not expected but a nice gesture, IMO)

Having a plan is helpful when you are solo because you automatically look more purposeful and less vulnerable. You will get all sorts of attention. Don't give any mixed messages, as they will be left open to interpretation. Don't carry a bunch of cash, don't walk the beach OR the road after sunset, don't go anywhere with anyone, even fellow tourists and don't let anyone come with you, don't get drunk in public, don't take random pills (not that you would, but good advice regardless- even aspirin), don't make promises you won't keep, do:have a blast and enjoy your freedom!!!!!! And try out the route taxis- just do it! You will get the hang of it very quickly. It will give you much more flexibility once you are confident with the transportation system.
