I did not know they offered this from Negril afaik from the info on the weblink. It would be a very long day - as you would have to go up through Ochi or via Kingston...my guess. I might be wrong. When I have done trips that were difficult from Negril...I just stayed a day in Mobey or Kingston before my flight home.

I have. Neat scenery but you can't have sore hands as its all braking downhill. Luckily a truck was following and got to ride in back. Loved that part.

I did it 2001 when we were staying in Ocho Rios. Even from Ochi it was a long day. Left before breakfast and were back after dinner. They drove us to the top with the bikes and we glided down hill. Stopped for lunch about 1/2 way down.
It was a very nice day and we had a great time. Keep in mind the weather can change quickly. The Tour had ponchos for everyone when it rained. The morning was a bit cloudy, but it cleared up by mid day.
Before we got to the mountain, we toured a banana plantation and stopped at Golden Eye beach of James Bond fame.
It would be a very long trip from Negril.
Enjoy,

I have when i stayed in Port Antonio. The tour originates from ochee and they picked us up on the way. We stopped for lunch on the way up. I didn't last long on the bike but rode back in the truck and enjoyed the scenery!
We did this on our 1st trip which was to Ocho Rios. As others posted even from OR it was a long day, had breakfast before they took us to the top and then stopped at the same place for lunch on the way down. It was almost 100% coasting, the few times we had to peddle some folks' bikes threw their chains because they were so loose LOL.
