    Cool Just Back From Jamaica

    Hello,

I just recently came back home to the USA from my Jamaica trip. My husband and I stayed at the all inclusive Sunscape Cove Resort in Montego Bay. It was very nice, but we didn’t really get to see/feel, as much as I wanted to experience. We booked this trip through AAA/Travel Impressions !!!!

I wanted to hear live reggae music, and taste lots of authentic Jamaica foods. We only stayed 3 nights/4 days, so I guess that was an introduction.

We are in the process of planning a trip back, around early spring of 2017 !!!!….YAY ...... There are several relatives who wants to join us on this next trip.

We don’t want to have to bring kids along, but one of my sisters just may have to bring her 12 year old …..

I’ve read that Negril is the place to stay to experience good, live reggae music. I plan on staying at least 6 nights, this time around.

    Tours I want to experience:
    Bob Marley
Croydon Plantation Tour (I love history)
    An Island Highlight Tour
    Glass Bottom Boat
One Love, bar crawl (I have sisters who will love this)
    The Luminous Lagoon

I don’t know if we’ll be doing the all inclusive this time around...or, will be trying something different !!! I know my relatives want to experience the ALL INCLUSIVE deal.

    ANY SUGGESTIONS ???

Negril is the place! What's your budget per night, need to hire a driver to handle to crew. ect.. Grand Pineapple is a AI. RUI is a AI.

I am always in favor of the Grand Pineapple!! Very moderately priced and right in the middle of everything.
I will say that if you attempt to accomplish your entire list you will have no time for relaxing IMHO. My favorite thing about 7 Mile Beach is the relaxing float in the calm, warm water.
The Luminous Lagoon is actually in Falmouth on the other side of Montego Bay as you head toward Ocho Rios. You might want to double check the drive time for that excursion before making your final decision.

I would suggest Mayfield Falls for a country ride and walk up da falls.

Gee, thanks. I only researched the hotel before I booked with AAA. Should have did my research of the whole island first. Wanna get it right the next time. Been reading good reviews about the RUI, and will be checking the other two out.

Moderately priced is what I want. Another poster says the Grand Pineapple is on this standard, and it is right in the middle of everything....That sounds like a winner !!!!

    * If you choose to stay in fabulous laid back Negril...it's a bit of a distance to the Bob Marley museum as it's located in Kingston - round trip driving time is approx. 6-8 hours. The Bob Marley 9 Mile which is located closer to Ocho Rios is almost the same amount of driving time, maybe an hour or so less.
If you're into Reggae...a stop at the Peter Tosh Mausoleum is in order and located in beautiful Belmont/Bluefields area (approx. 40min. away from Negril) and can be combined with other locations to visit...YS Falls (a working plantation), Pelican Bar, Bamboo Avenue, Middle Quarters, Blue Hole...sooo much to see and any of the Negril.com tour drivers can customize a great trip for you.

    * Glass bottom boat operators are easily found on the beach...everyone has their favourite boat captain...pick one close to your hotel.

    * One Love Pub Crawl is a great way to explore the West End of Negril...you'll visit some locally operated properties that you may not have explored on your own.

    * The Luminous Lagoon is located in the Falmouth area (closer to Montego Bay) and driving time from Negril is almost 2+ hours one way. Incredible experience you may combine with other excursions.

    * Live music can be found at a number of venues in Negril. Special larger live concerts happen every so often and during high season some of the smaller venues offer daily, weekly or biweekly shows that are a load of fun...Bourbon Beach, Alfreds, Drifters...etc.

And, I think your choice of Negril ROCKS for your next visit to Jamaica!!
