First I'd like to thank everyone on this forum who shares their stories and pictures - I've been looking at Negril.com for 12 or more years almost daily - my husband calls it my "jaimaica porn".

We've been going to Negril at least once and sometimes up to 3 times a year for the past 15 years. We stay all over Negril - cliffs and beach and AI & non AI .... so thought I'd sign back up after many years of lurking and living through others posts, pictures, and stories ... thanks to everyone who has pasted because it takes me to Negril every day!!! We've met fantastic locals we make a point of catching up with each reach. We have also met people on the beach from different states and countries that are now dear friends and we schedule our negril trips together and vacation with them. We've introduced many people to Negril and they have also fallen in love with not just Negril but to Jamaica.

I miss Negril within days of leaving - I miss the colors, the music, the food, the people, the beach, waves crashing into cliffs, the smells, the sound of peepers at night, and morning doves cooing early morning!!!

We have experiences and suggestions of drivers and restaurants, books (Walk Good, Banana Shout) and some of our own pictures and stories to share so I'll start working on that.

After almost 30 trips to Negril and just weeks of returning home I'm back online searching for the next trip!

Dats funny...Jamaica porn! No matter how you look at it {grin}. Dere is sumting bout Negril, that is so addicting. Now, that we have our trip booked {January} it's hard not to go on Negril.com just to see any "new" posts etc. And the folks who post pictures, dat is so cool. Keep 'em coming. This will be our 16th trip in 12 years. Splitting up our trip dis year is da cliffs and beach. beachy21, I liked your post, and I also agree about the locals who have turned into dear friends, and also other travelers from around the world , who you try to keep in contact with, but doesn't always turn out that way. Yes, the people, the colors, the music, the food {and adult beverages}, the beach, the gleeping tree frogs, maybe not so much the roosters crowing at 4 a.m.! the list can go on and on. So, anyhoo,, thanks for your porn report *$#@*!?!%* Respect. One love.

Beachy21, absolutely agree with you! I was a lurker from the Mid 90's until about 2000.
Jamaica has had a hold on me since I first stepped foot on the tarmac in 1992. Hard to explain to people that don't get it....
Negril.com is the first "Favorite" programmed into my google search engine when I'm firing up a new computer.
Some days I check in several times, definitely 1st thing in the morning, even before I check the weather forecast!

Too funny! No doubt my hubby could sympathize with yours ... lol This forum is a wealth of information and when I made my visit to Negril in 2005 - it felt like I had been there before.
I did so much research on this board prior that helped me to choose Rondel for beach and Seastar for Cliff - met John and Anita of Johnmaica Tours and went to Mango festival, felt brave enough to go on my own with my sister - her son of 15 and my daughter of 18. We had a blast - everything felt so familiar. No sooner were we back and my sister and I were plotting our trip back 6 months later. Then I turned hubbie onto this land we love and the adventures continue

Our first trip to Jamaica was a 4 night Valentines trip in 2000 with several couples and the island was new to all except one guy who had traveled to Negril for years.
We stayed at the Westender Inn and it was such an adventure - renting island cruisers and driving the dirt road back and forth along the cliffs and to the beach.... and places in between.
Looking back it was that first trip that sealed our love of Negril. We have been to many islands but almost immediately knew that Jamaica was it for us - people, beauty, music, food, and wonderful culture. Every trip when I step off the plane upon arriving my heart lifts.
I've lost track of exactly how many trips but it's near 30 and through the years we have stayed at many places, met great people, we got engaged on the cliffs at sunset and 3 months later came back and got married on the beach.
I'll start separate post and begin to share some of our experiences.
