Just an odd thought...weird that expats thought the hustling is bad...you're rarely bothered if you live here full time...hmmm.
And, good advice about walking the road at night rather than the beach right now...more people and lights on the road.

They had been out of country at their US place for three months. We arrived at Beach Bar w them and observed three locals, one of which we knew come up to them and explain how slow it had been and ask for "likkle help". Their wealth is not a secret on the beach so I believe they get hit up a little more than usual. They employ a few Jamaicans nearly full time, a driver, a couple gardeners and a house keeper so the word gets around.
RonMon, Did you do the daytime or sunset Red Stripe catamaran?

~Just my two cents worth - I mostly only comment on places I've seen and or eaten at personally.
Great report, thanks for the update!
I have gone to Negril twice in the summer and do not like to go then. I'm not one to like crowds except for in Negril. I don't know if it's because many places are closed for the season or that the hustlers are more aggressive and begging......I know it's just me...
Hey Moose,
We did the daytime two years ago. We have done the evening one twice now and the daytime once. I would recommend the evening over the daytime, you get 3 stops, one to snorkle, one to swim caves and one at Ricks. The evening one is always a party with the RS/RUM flowing as soon as you board. The daytime one was really mellow, it was cool to see Bobby Cay and the lobster was good but I would just take a small fishing boat over and do same thing for less money since no one is really partying anyways. FWIW they ask $120 for the evening for a couple we settled at $80J and tipped $10. They really tried hard for US at that price, but J was all I had w me.
