Trip Report #6-To Sav La mar
It was one of those days that starts out looking like a million dollars.
A few clouds, bright sunshine and a breeze coming off the waters.
It was about 9:00 A. M. when I woke up.
She had been up for hours.
"Baby, we can do this, and we can do that!" I said.
"Member, we go to Sav today, she said as
she brought me my morning cup of coffee and headed back into the kitchen.
"Let me know when you want me to start your B-fast.
I took a few sips, Ahhhh...this coffee is just right!
Hey, You can start now!
(my fav -pancakes and bacon and fried eggs)
I stepped out on the Veranda and looked at the sky.
Give thanks to Jah!
Bless up!
This might sound crazy, but I do dream about waking up,
drinking coffee and eating Breakfast in Jamaica like it is Christmas morning.

The sun was up and about, the butterflies in the yard were playing catch
and the Humming birds were eating their breakfast too.
I love it, I love it, I LOVE IT!!!!!
After eating, we both bathed. (one at a time)LOL
I dressed and walked out to the road.
Hmmm, not many cars this morning.
I stray motorcycle whizzed pass me and was out of sight in a minute.
No other car followed.
Something weird going on?
Soon, she was dressed and ready.
"Mark, you have your sweat rag" she said.
Gosh darn it, No.
I started to walk back to the house and "Voila" She had it in her hands.
"Got you" she said.
Oh, a practical joker , huh?
Some of my ways were rubbing off on her.
Give me that.
I tried to snap it at her booty, but she was too quick.
(even an average J-lady can run like the wind)
She definitely can out run me.
So, there we were.
Two people standing on the road, waiting for a Route Taxi.
"come Mark, lets stand over here, under the tree, in the shade.
The locals seek shade immediately when outside.
All the time I hear "Mark, get out of the sun"
But, I say, there is no sun where I come from!
I gotta have it when I'm here.
Any way, we were standing and waiting, and waiting.
No Taxis?
Finally one pulled over and we hopped in.
I found out that the Road Examiner was out that day.
"Mon, they stop you and LOOK for something wrong with your car." the Taxi driver told me.
Not just plates and sticker, but everything!
Brakes, steering, windshield wipers, you name it, they look for anything to write a ticket about.
On days like that, the word gets around quickly.
Like the beating drums in the Motherland.
Most taxis will use the side roads to get from point A to point B.
They stay off the main drag where the Road Inspector/ Examiner is working.
We made it to Sav and it was bustling.
It is the "back to school " time of year.
People everywhere.
The side walks were jammed and so were the stores.
Folks sell their wares here and there, inside and out.
My baby must have went in 8 different stores.
One store had so many shoppers that the entrance was crowded.
Shopping, shopping, shopping.
She has a little shop and goes to Sav to stock up.
Good thing is, she can leave the bags at the store,
get a claim ticket, leave that store , and keep on shopping.
Then come back in a Taxi, get out in front of the store,
claim her items,
grab the bags and put them in the trunk, then we can go home.
Sav is a nice place to people watch.
Sometimes, I would just lean up against the side of the building
and wait for her to come out.
One time, I ran across the street and tried to hide.
She came out and spotted me in 3 seconds.
Darn it!
Mi see you mon.
Why you try to hide?
Just playing doll, just playing.
That day I had forgot that I told my friends that I
would bring back some spices from the market for them.
Oh well, we ended up back there 2 days later.
