Report #7-The rain
We were just chillin.
It was about day 6 and I decided "no more running around".
I just sat around, put in a DVD and relaxed.
"Good thing we stayed home baby, look at those clouds!
They were the dark and rolling kind.
All puffed up, like a kids balloon, ready to pop.
About 5 minutes before it broke, people start moving fast.
In the Yaad, there are a lot of things to be done right before the rains start.
Covering up thing, putting things inside,
taking clothes off the line, etc. etc.
I was on the Veranda, watching the family move in a hectic looking pace.
Hmmm, should I help? Nah, I would be in the way.
They have it down to a science.
Just as the last piece of work was done,
here it came!
The rain and lightning came down in one big swoop.
It was like someone flipped a switch.
I, still on the Veranda, watched as my baby ran up to me a little wet.
She was smiling and laughing as she hopped up the one stair.
Beautiful skin,
with shimmering raindrops on her nose and eyelashes!
Uhh, Ummm, you wanna go inside? I said.
For what? she said with a laugh.
Just playing baby.
No you not! LOL
It was fun.
The thunderstorms in Jamaica are extremely loud.
It seems like the lightning strikes just 10 feet right over the house!
That day it rained for about 3 hours.
Hmmm, rainy season alright.
So, we stayed in and watched movies and I ate and drank brews all day long.
