Negril.com - For the vacation that never ends!
At the NHC 11:00 EDT update, Monday, October 3, 2016, on Hurricane Matthew, their forecast is for the hurricane, 24 hours out, to not come any closer to Kingston, Jamaica than 279 statute miles. Hurricane force winds only extend out 35 miles from the storm's center and Kingston has less than a 50/50 chance of even experiencing Tropical Storm winds. Negril has a less that 10% chance of that. Rain is the big issue here, as 5 to 10 inches of rain is expected to fall on extreme eastern Jamaica. Haiti, extreme Eastern Cuba, and the central Bahamas are in the direct path. Thank goodness Jamaica is spared a direct hit again. Let's hope that it gives the others a glancing blow.
Please keep us up to date. I check back every few hours for new developments as I'm sure many others do too. Prayers and Best Wishes.
