Bob, my wife and I stayed at Jake's a few years back for our 30th anniversary; she had seen it featured on Travel Channel and wanted to go. It was nice but pricey, I found their restaurants to be very high priced considering the options just a short walk away. We were looking for a few quiet days and we got just that. Stayed for 3 days then back to Negril for a couple weeks. I have no regrets but would most likely pass on a return visit. Since one of our first dates was "The Harder They Come" we had some interest in Jake's history.

We stayed at Treasure Beach Hotel and were very happy with the 2 pools, beautiful view, access to the beach and ocean and lack of people for about $75 per night.
I think it was 1973 when Perry Henzel was doing another movie in Negril and Jim and I got to be extras for a scene on the west end road. We probably ended up on the cutting room floor. If I remember correctly, the movie wasn't put out until many years later.

hahahhaa, actually I was thinking the same thing "ended up on the cutting room floor" but how cool would it be to see ourselves from back then, in the movie, today, some 40 years later. Wish I knew where to buy or rent the film. I recall us being asked to do the 2 hippies sitting on the wall just up from the old round about poking and eating fruit thing as the big car chase scene drove by us... later i think you followed jimmy cliff down to the light house. where can that movie be bought?
