    St Anthony's

Is there a "best" day to volunteer at the soup kitchen? Also, what time is best to show up to help with lunch. I was thinking it was around 10:30. Is that about right?

The Crew appreciates help any day, and when I was there last they began serving around 10:30, so if possible get there early so they can meet you and give you an assignment...then stay late and help wash dishes!!!

I went by one day and asked if I could come the next day and what time. I ended up helping several days during my trip and didn't need to be there until 11:15. I helped with the set up and prep for service, then serving dishes out to people, then washing and drying dishes at the end of service. I was done around 1:15-1:30 depending on the day.

I met Andrea first and she told me when to come back the next day. I met Miss Pearl and Vernica and Mr Monday, as well as other "staff" and volunteers.

    A great experience!!!!

We helped out on a Wed as we were told they are usually short staffed that day. We passed out tickets for lunch and helped serve.

Mondays are also a busy day as Ms Pearl goes to Sav for all of the veggies on Friday....Monday everything gets cut and chopped to use for the week. They are a wonderful group of folks and are very appreciative of any help they get.
I agree with Livin...it is a great experience!!
