Oh, I did not know there is a fee to be "ON" that beach.
This is different.
So, I travel with one of those
folding/umbrella chairs.
If I stop and sit there, I must pay a fee?
Thanks

MS...there is a fee to use their beach...if I'm remembering correctly it's approx. 400-500j.
It's an extra fee if you require a chair (approx. 150-200j)...you can bring your own chair but you can't bring your own food or drink.
There is no fee to eat in their restaurant.

There is a huge expanse of open beach immediately adjacent to and north of the "cosmo" beach.
If you are worried about something, do something about it. If there is nothing you can do, why worry!
just go there and eat
The fee is to use the facilities as well as the beach. As stoners6 notes, there's a very long public beach north of Cosmo's.
I've been hanging out at Cosmo's since first trip in 1984. There isn't anything on the menu that isn't as good as it gets in simple Jamaican specialties. I love the steam or fried fish and bammy, curry conch, conch bits and chips, curry goat, stew peas, Oxtail and all the soups are great. Last winter, we met friends at a swanky restaurant and the food can't hold a candle to Cosmo's. Thank you, Cosmo Brown!
We're all in this together and none of us is getting out alive.
I used to really love Cosmos but I had a negative experience that really turned me off. Christmas Holiday 2015, my family of @20 showed up for dinner around 6:30. As we proceeded to our tables, we were told staff were on break and could not serve us. We were stunned and my dad asked why would the servers be on break during the dinner hour. The response was "don't you think staff deserve a break". Of course staff deserve a break but during dinner is not the right time. I'm not too sure why this happened....although I think I have an idea -- wouldn't be the first time. I was most disappointed b/c I was looking forward to enjoying my red pea soup. Thankfully there are other restaurant choices so we ended up at Sweet Spice. I can now add Cosmos to my list of never returning.
I can't figure how that happened but I'll bet Como would have fired the staff the next day
