    having a pool certainly is a killer......
    and the beach is normally the high rent district so that makes it tuff too
    boy during high season the prices get up there in comparison to the low season.........ouch....

    for the Cliffs;
    first choice would be Pisces at Catcha would fit the bill at $135/night...
    it's cozy and a very nice room with outdoor shower which is a plus....staff is awesome

    SamSara at $118.00....but them charge for likkle things like safe and wifi etc....$10 a night for Frig

    for the Beach;
    Negril Beach Condos one room apartment for $140 a night........
    Shields at $120........half decent at the end of the beach
    Travelers at $103.50 with Kitchenette

    now without a pool on the Cliffs you have choices like Blue Cave Castle, Moonlight, Banana Shout, etc

    now I know why I don't go in high season very often.........lol

    If you can live without little pool, my room at mariposa is about 50 steps to trhe waters edge. We stayed last year mid feb- mid march, and our room had mini fridge, and hot plate. the grounds are kept top-notch, quiet, and peaceful, we found very relaxing. We walked to so many places most within 15=30ish minutes, catholic church 15 mins. right beside Best in the West, Shamrock(store for everything from ice to booze bug spray etc) 10 min walk, we also walked to point village stopping at cosmos and other great places along the way an excellant way to kill an afternoon, or go the otherway to town. We plan on returning feb-mar and will return to Mariposa, super clean ,comfortable rooms or my wife would be going elsewhere, as we could pay more, but i don't think i could get more of what we like. Best of luck, may see you there cheeers

    Negril Escape offers hammocks and great views on the cliffs. Easy walk to many good restaurants. Occupancy rates don't seem to be all that high and I've heard from several posters that they readily negotiate rates (although I have not done it myself).

    Banana Shout. Either Dolphin View or Dolphin Bay. $100.00 a night for a private cottage with hammock right on the cliff's edge. For a little more Catcha Falling Star next door. Banana Shout is no frills. But great hosts (Milo & Marianne) and location is wonderful. That would be my first choice in that price range. Citronella (Round House or A-Frame) is affordable too. But again, Banana Shout I think would be perfect. If you go to Negrilonestop.com they have a great site with wonderful photos and the rates right there for easy comparison. Good luck.

    This is the off season rate for BS, Feb/March will be more - $200 I believe and Citronella is about the same.

    Also a reference to Coco La Palm being inexpensive... The standard rooms are about $185 plus taxes at that time of year last time we checked.

    Travellers
    Rondel (may be garden side across road from beach) I think you can get beach side rooms close to your budget, but not sea view.
    The Palms

    These all have pools and should be within your budget.

    This place http://www.wildparrotnegril.com/ looks like good value and if $110 is the highest rate must be for a kitchenette room..no pool though but should be some in that area you can use with drink/food purchase.

    There are many places in your budget in the westend but don't know of any that offer a pool and a direct sea view and that rate. Moonlight Villas would give you a direct sea view/fridge under your budget but no pool. Catcha Gardens/Xtabi gardenside(no fridges)/SeaStar have pools but not sea side.

    Good luck with it. It is always fun to find a new place to stay that fits your needs.

    I have stayed at Negril Escape several times, good rates, pool, breakfast included. They were doing lots of fixing up to the joint.
