I've used Chalis the past two February trips and they were fine. If you rent the cheapest car you will get the cheapest car...and don't expect something without a few dings and scratches. They will walk around the car with you, so be sure to point out any damage you see. One of the big advantages to Chalis is that the except the Visa/MC World Card so you do not have to pay the additional insurance. This can save $15-20 per day. Driving can be an adventure but don't be afraid it's really no big deal.
