    Black River Safari/YS Falls

We'll be coming back to Negril at the end of February, and my other half has decided to do something besides letting the sand gravity kick in. I've been to YS Falls before, but this is only his second time here. I want to hire a private driver so he can see some of the countryside and he's looking at going to both these places. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what the price is to do the Black River, and do I contact anyone directly or do we just show up? Any info would be wonderful....

cannot remember the price, but you have to go to the Pelican Bar, then go about 2 miles up Black River, that is where you will see everything, we loved it, soon come

I totally forgot about the Pelican bar! That would be a blast too! Who do you contact for any of that? I don't mean to be irritating about any of this, but I like to have a general idea of what kind of funds to put aside for any tours we do. I don't want to take away from the Red Stripes and Rum & Tings!!!

    Maralunatic,

Great idea to visit the south coast. Others can provide pricing.

The itinerary that I use is as follows:

Leave Negril after an early breakfast. Black River Safari ( I recommend a smaller boat, there is a bridge across the river upstream and larger boats have to turn around at that point.
Pelican Bar is optional if you have time and the funds.
    Drive through Bamboo Avenue
    Stop at Howie's for lunch
Visit YS Falls for an afternoon dip
Stop at Appleton Estates for the tour and a few samples
On the way home stop near Bluefields Beach for some Spicy Shrimp purchased from a roadside vendor.
That is a full day of fun.

Do a Google search for Negril tours/transportation. I remember some these websites price their tours online.

We found that Black River and the pelican was enough for 1 day. We stayed out at the bar for about 2 hours. It was a great day. Here is Patrick's info and he will hook you up with a boat. We have been using him for years and never a problem.

Thanks everyone for all your help. February 24 can't come soon enough...minus 20 on our way into work this AM, and that is without windchill!!

From the link below, you can view some of the tour drivers websites...if you decide on a more personalized tour, email a couple of drivers for pricing and pick the driver that you feel the most comfortable.
