Can anyone tell me about this place. Hotels.com has a good rate for when we will be there. Would be 3 adults and one 7 year old.

Thanks. That oyster link was helpful. Pass. We'll stick with The Palms
We stayed there for a Tarrus Riley concert. The people are great. The basic rooms are tiny, tiny, but the theme rooms are nice. All the rooms have a nice porch area with hammocks. Very rocky for little feet but nice views. The food was good. They have 2 bedroom units that would be good for your group because they have 3 beds. The Palms is probably a better choice because a 7 year old will love the beach.
We stayed there a couple years ago. The rates are low, but you get what you pay for. On the surface, they provide a lot of amenities, but the place is in need repairs and updates. Their cliffs are a nice spot to chill on, but my wife was very upset with the quality of our room. If you're solo and just need a bed to crash on (e.g. AC and shower may or may not work), then it's fine. On the plus side, security is very good (they have some very big dogs!).
We are at the Palms for eight nights, but the reservation is broken into two: 6 nights and 2 nights (saved significant $ that way -- tip of the day). Was just thinking of breaking it up a bit, but we did that last year and just ended up hanging out at the beach when we were staying at the cliffs. Thanks for the info!
Escape used to have live music? Not anymore?
It was cheaper to stay there than pay for 2 concert tickets, and it included breakfast. Terrus Riley and the band stayed there too. It was great not having to go anywhere after the concert. This is the view from our bed.
