Medical emergency
Just a quick note...we have traveled to Negril several times. This past trip I suffered a medical emergency. Negril One Stop had information regarding medical assistance and it was very helpful. I contacted Beth on their website (from Comforts of Home) and I cannot say enough about her assistance during our time in a medical facility in Montego Bay. I use Negril One Stop to book transfers between Montego Bay and Negril for all of our trips. This past one when we had to cancel our return trip transfer, they were understanding and helpful and even offered to help with our luggage when it was uncertain on how we were returning home. Also both Travellers and Tensing Pen were very understanding and empathetic to our situation. Travellers contacted Dr. Radomski and he provided assistance even after I was admitted to hospital. Negril is a favorite travel destination and I cannot say enough about all of the people that provided me care and helped us return home safely.

Re: Medical emergency
It's so nice to hear that there were people who reached out to you to help ease your bad situation.
Whatever your health issues were I hope you are now on the mend.
To all those who helped Andrea, if you are reading this, may God bless you just as you were a blessing to her in her time of need.

Re: Medical emergency
I hope you are doing well now, Andrea, and I do hope you come back to your paradise.
I'm also concerned about possibility of medical emergency because we're not getting any younger. There have been a lot of good discussions on this board and also on Facebook. I also took note of Beth's contact info but hope I'll never need her services. I decided to buy travel insurance this time with $50,000 transportation coverage - I hope that's enough.

Re: Medical emergency
I know someone who used Beth in December, and I know I will never travel again without having her information handy. Actually, I may never travel
again without full medical insurance. It's something I've thought about the last couple of trips, but didn't want to spend the extra money. We are not getting any younger, and I think it's important for the next trip.
Hopefully everything is good with you Andrea!

Re: Medical emergency
I go through Geo Blu and pay $60 for 2 of us for $100,000 limit with $100 deductible.....I have never needed it and hope I never have to but it's a small price to pay for piece of mind. I also purchase the travel insurance when booking through airline since we fly from the midwest and never know what the weather is going to do in Feb.

Re: Medical emergency
Thank you...I see a few familiar names on here that have needed my services in critical situations! I cannot express it enough.....have my number for quick access but go to my website, hit contact me there to email where you are staying and your travel dates!! Do not rely on hotel staff/security at night to get a hold of me!
They have my number but do not rely on this! Do not email, use FB messenger or text...CALL!
You do not know if there is any physician available or how long it will take them to arrive, if they will come (live out of town) It is best to have me arrive For first responder and triage care. I will carry my medic bag and AED if needed to attend to you AND make a plan on what you need/where you need to go depending on time of day. After clinic hours if necessary, I can consult physician, ambulance/medivan or other out of Negril services.
FYI: I give you a receipt to turn in for travel insurance reimbursement also, but require cash for services rendered. Most physicians request cash also upon hotel or outside call also (this is JA). Surprisingly I am getting more daytime calls than late night...every year is different! Physicians are in clinic so leaving patients for hotel is difficult and some of you have to travel out of Negril for services so I can set it up or go with if you feel more comfortable with this. Enjoy your time in Negril , just be prepared as you would in any other country!
